The CQ Capras club is headed by Central Queensland’s most prominent businessman Geoff Murphy. Geoff commenced his business activities in Rockhampton in 1961 and today, as managing director of the JM Kelly Group of Companies, heads up the largest diversified and privately-owned construction business in Queensland. The Group, whose companies include JM Kelly (Project Builders) Pty Ltd, Queensland Windows, Kawana Kitchens, Central Queensland Plumbing and BPM Cowlrick, employs 370 people, with offices in Rockhampton, Gladstone and Brisbane. Geoff is also well known for his community endeavours and is Chairman of Beef Australia – the organisation behind the country’s triennial international beef expo – in addition to his Chairmanship and financial backing of the CQ NRL Bid Team.
