2019 Head Coach Announced!

CQ CAPRAS APPOINT NEW HEAD COACH

The Rockhampton Leagues Club CQ Capras have today announced the appointment of David Faiumu as the new 2019 Intrust Super Cup Head Coach.

David brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience with him, and we have already seen the benefits of this experience at the club this year through his current position as Assistant to Kim Williams.

A brief overview of David’s career is as follows:

  • David has come through our system having played for the CQ Capras / Comets in 2003
  • Playing career with the North QLD Cowboys (5 years) with players such as Johnathon Thurston, Matt Scott, Matty Bowen etc.
  • Played for the Huddersfield Giants (7 years) in the English Super league. Total of 238 NRL & Super League games.
  • Played 13 International rugby League games for New Zealand, Samoa & European Exiles
  • Coaching roles with the Huddersfield Giants, Junior Kiwis, CQ Capras
  • David has played under coaches such as Graham Murray, Neil Henry, Nathan Brown, Wayne Bennett
  • Game Development Officer (Huddersfield), GM of Rugby League (Wellington RL), QRL Central Division Well Being Officer.
  • Relocated back to Rockhampton with his family October 2017 to be closer to his wife’s family (who are from Rockhampton).
  • Kim Williams offered David a position as Assistant coach to the CQ Capras ISC team. He applied for and was successful in being appointed The Well Being Officer for QRL Central Division.
  • David is committed to the Central QLD Capras strategic plan and understands the importance of promoting from within and developing our own for the future.
